Therapy is usually on a weekly basis, with each session lasting 50 minutes.
At the beginning of each session, we will agree on the items that will be discussed.
At the end of each session, we will decide on in-between session tasks such as gathering information about your thoughts, feelings, physical sensations and behaviours or practising some changes in your day-to-day life. CBT aims to teach you to apply the skills that you learn during therapy sessions to your everyday life. Practising new skills between sessions will enable you to overcome your difficulties and make it less likely that problems will re-occur.
CBT is a collaborative process and you will only work at a pace that is manageable for you. I understand how confronting fears and anxieties can feel overwhelming at first and will break down the tasks into smaller, more manageable parts that feel achievable and comfortable to you.
